Mission
My soul mission is to artistically depict the beautiful dark outcasts of society and promote an appreciation of ganja in a very bold and captivating way. Although my work could definitely classify simply as "stoner art," there is a deeper underlying purpose and drive for my particular style of expression. That said, I use my art as a social mechanism to remind society that melanin is a gift, and a very special one. More specifically, my art aims to acknowledge the intersectional overlaping of not only race, but also class, ethnicity, cultural upbringing, and gender. Likewise, some of my favourite pieces are those which represent the resilience of black and brown women as well as the struggles and inequalities they face due to these inferiorating intersections. Moreover, my creations seek to shine a well-deserved spotlight on visible minorities who are culturally appropriated, imitated, and discredited on a daily basis. Accordingly, my art stands up against these social mockeries and nudges viewers to question their narrow perspectives, or ignorant imitations, of hood culture and/or people of visible colour. Overall, my hopeful outcome is to empower these individuals and let them know that their identities and appearances are to be embraced, as they are the truest, most original display of the western world's current cultural and fashionable 'trends.'
